Sister Breksa's Little Brother's Recent Primary Talk

When we avoid doing wrong and put effort into doing the right…we are doing good. Jesus Christ taught,

“If thou wilt do good, yea, and hold out faithful to the end, thou shalt be saved in the kingdom of God, which is the greatest of all the gifts of God; for there is no gift greater than the gift of salvation.” (Doctrine and Covenants 6:13)

Salvation is the greatest of all the gifts of God.  Greatest!  So, salvation is greater than the earth, our families, Primary, oceans, trees, and every other gift of God.

But to open the gift, we have to do good and keep doing good.  We can’t give up doing good.  Salvation is way in the future – but what we do now is what counts.

Sometimes we will do what we know is wrong – which is a sin and we will leave undone what we know we should do – that is a sin.  Like stealing is something we should not do and paying tithing is something we should do.

When we sin…and this is the miracle…we can repent!  And when we repent we are doing good.  That is part of using what is in the gift – repentance.

Jesus Christ saves us from sin!  He makes it possible for us to do good so we can enjoy the greatest gift of God.

1.      He tells us what to do and what not to do.
2.      He gave us the Holy Ghost
           a.      to help warn us to avoid sin.
     b.      to give us peace and happiness when we do what is right.
3.      Our Savoir gave us the gift of repentance – of saying sorry and making it right.

I want to do good.  I want to enjoy the greatest gift of God…salvation.

In the name of Jesus Christ, Our Savoir, Amen.
