Surprising Obstacle
Q.
Your little sister will be going on her mission in three and
half years, were there obstacles you were surprised by?
A.
Companion Sister C.
“I didn’t know there would be times with no one to teach, just finding”
Companion Sister B.
Becoming a missionary doesn’t make you a different person, you are still who you are.
Sister Breksa
“Me- Just how imperfect I am. We all still don’t always know what we are doing, when you think you might get it- there is a better way. Always improving. Plus I feel that different areas need different things and we are all progressing.

What parent would say to a child, “Learning to walk is such a painful and difficult experience, you will stumble, you will most likely hurt yourself, you will cry many times when you fall. I will protect you from the struggle”? …"Out of my love for you, I will save you from this[.]”
If so, because [a parent could] not bear to
see [their child] take a tumble at times, he may have never learned to walk. That is
unthinkable for a loving parent or grandparent.
The child, if he or she is
ever to walk, must pass through the stumbling and often painful process of
learning. We encouraged [children] to learn through … experience.
Yes, even knowing
that the process would be difficult, we kn[o]w that the freedom and joy of
walking would outweigh any temporary pain or adversity.
My brothers and sisters,
what is mortality if not a long process like learning to walk? We must learn to
walk in the ways of the Lord.
You are stronger than you
think. Your Heavenly Father, the Lord and Master of the universe, is your
Creator. When I think of it, it makes my heart leap for joy. Our spirits are
eternal, and eternal spirits have immeasurable capacity!
Our Father in Heaven does
not wish us to cower. He does not want us to wallow in our misery. He expects
us to square our shoulders, roll up our sleeves, and overcome our challenges.

From Sister C. a Companion of Sister Breksa
On Thursday after a long weekly planning session, we got out to do some finding. We stopped a lady who I realized had an accent. We talked to her and found out she was from Korean but had married a Japanese gentleman 10 years ago and moved here. We talked to her about Christianity and the purpose of life!We then talked about the Book of Mormon and shared 2 Nephi 2:25 [“Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy.”] Then here comes the kiseki...... I HAD BEEN HOLDING A KOREAN PAMPHLET IN MY FINDING BAG FOR SINCE LIKE FEBRUARY BACK IN OKINAWA!!!The spirit hit me so strong that it was for her!! So we set an appointment and invited her to read the part about prayer...........Okay FAST FORWARD TO THIS MORNING.................WE TAUGHT HER AND IT WAS AMAZING!! We taught from the first pamphlet and she read along in KOREAN. She is so open and willing to learn. We promised that the gospel would strengthen her family! Then we shared the Joseph Smith experience and asked her to read it in Korean. When she read it the spirit filled the room. Although I did not understand ANYTHING I felt the spirit testifying to my heart that is was true. WOW!! This church is sooo true!! I know without a doubt that God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and restored the church to the earth!! Wow it just hit me again today!! She committed to pray and we will teach her again next week!!
