Tuesday (23 September):

We had scheduled a lesson with A., but she cancelled to help move a friend in at Hiroshima. So we housed around the area and met T. She let us in and we scheduled an appointment for the next day. The cool thing about her is that she knew nothing about Christ.

Wednesday:

T.’s lesson was great. She thanked us for teaching in a way she could understand. She readily accepted and understood the Atonement! However, we were unable to make another appointment.

Taught I., it was great, we had planned to look at 3 Nephi 11 together but I felt prompted to change it to what we planned for T., looking at Mosiah 3 together and then read 3 Nephi 11 where it talks about the Gospel of Christ. Did so.

When asked, she said she does not feel like she needs baptism right now. She just wants to learn what we believe.

While I was testifying about the Atonement her eyes were watering. I asked her if she ever felt love from Christ or received His help through the Atonement. She said, “Yes, but I probably did not notice it was from Him at the time.”

Last Sunday

I love the ward here. I can make the members laugh, which makes me happy.

After church and our missionary coordination meeting we raced home, quickly made and ate yakisoba and raced to our lesson.

The man we are teaching, his younger sister was there so we could enter his home and he had bought mogicha
as we could not drink the beverages- tea, coffee, he offered at another meeting. It was great. At first he explained, he did not have any interest in religion but two beautiful girls came to his door. He noticed that our hearts were pure. He has really read the Book of Mormon. He is interested in Baptism to become clean, but not so much in following all the rules. So we set a date and explained that we are going to have lessons to explain everything. He is planning to come to church this Sunday.

We went up big hills to go weed Sister _______’s yard. Afterwards we were able get a list of people she wanted us to visit, as she is the RS president. One of those members is a less active [does not go to church often or at all]. Her family runs a bread shop so she gave us some bread.

Coming back home, I thought- “Let’s swing by _________!”  (Who we tried to visit the day before her Birthday with a member and then later that evening by ourselves with no success.) So we did. She was home! We gave her some if the bread, and shared a scripture and I said a prayer.
